Glossary of Terms

Sometimes we use terms that may not be used in everyday language, so to clarify below are terms we use when describing the coffee world.

Cherry: coffee fruit picked from the coffee tree (looks similar to the fruit cherry).

Pulp: when the skin and fruit of the coffee cherry is peeled off

Coffee Bean: coffee seeds or the cherry minus pulp

Parchment layer:  the outer skin or layer of the coffee beans

Parchment: plural for dry Coffee Beans

Dry Milling: removes the parchment which is then ready to roastred coffee cherries next to parchment on drying rack
